DIY Yoga Mat Ornament

Merry Christmas! I have wanted a yoga ornament for a long time now. I saw some on the internet and I wanted one of my very own but being the “penny pincher” that I am I figured I could make it. Now I am sharing with you how to make one of your very own.

Material you will need:

  • Foam sheets (mine are 5.5 by 8.5 in assorted color package)
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Hot Glue Sticks
  • Small ribbon or string of your choice
  • Marker (optional for decorating the ornament)

Start by pugging in your hot glue gun, this will take some time to heat up. Be sure you have enough glue in the hot glue gun.

Select the color of foam you would like for your mat. Then measure lengthwise 5 in. This is going to be the long edge of your mat. For the width measure 2 and 3/4 of an inch. Cut this out.

Take a pen to roll the mat around to create an even roll. ROLL IT UP!

Place small spots of glue inside the flap at the end. NOT TOO MUCH! it will squeeze out as you finish rolling it.

Take your ribbon or string and tie one end round the mat off to one side. Then tie the other end on the other side of the mat so that it looks like a strap you will throw over your shoulder.

Ta Da you now have a cheap, easy, DIY yoga mat ornament. Best part is you can make a bunch to cover your tree with or give away to your yogi family.

Merry Christmas,

Heather
